Overall, it's good—especially the value for money is unbeatable.
BUT
With HDMI audio output, the audio channels are reversed. The left stereo channel is output to the right speaker and vice versa.
This issue cannot be resolved either in the Mod-Kit’s OSD settings or in the TV’s own settings.
I have contacted support regarding this and am waiting for a response and a solution to this problem.
Great customer service
Relatively easy to install.
The ability to adapt the video signal to different monitors and TVs (zoom level) is convenient. What I don't understand is why the zoom levels change the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 (there's a monitor or TV function to widen the view). I also would have preferred the video signal to maintain its original resolution, rather than being forcibly scaled to 720p.
This soldering gave me a pain in the ass, but in the end, it is rewarding as hell!!!
At first, the shipping was long, but China and Germany can't be called door to door neighbours. So it's fine.
The Hardware looks well made. I was realy impressed.
Then the soldering began. I don't have a magnifier, so I had to go realy near to the soldering points to see a thing. It is much tinier, than the pictures here are showing it.
I recommend to use much flux. And I mean MUUUUUCH FLUX!!!!
After fitting everything in, it was time to test it.
The connector of the mini HDMI could be a milimeter longer. I wasn't sure, if it was all the way in.
Picture worked instantly. (But I had no speaker on the monitor)
After testing it on my monitor, I tested it on the front HDMI of my DENON X1400H. Pucture was there, but no sound.
Taking the console apart and checking all the soldering again. Everything seems fine.
Contacted the support. They reacted very quick (6 Hours). Compared to german standards. Germans are used to wait for minimum 24 hours to get a response from other germans. So I was impressed.
But while I waited, I checked the console again direct on my TV. That did the trick. It seems that going over the front HDMI of the AV receiver isn't working. Maybe incompatibality.
Since the original AV-Out of the console is working too, I can compare the pictures. HDMI looks sharper than the AV. That was the goal. So 100% satisfied!!!
Long story short, very cool set, pain in the ass to solder it, but it does the trick!!!
It'sgreat, installed and working nicely
